David and Junko Young are husband and wife potter team who lives in Gettysburg, PA with their children, Irvin, Elisha, Caleb & Kagen. David's work is mostly wheel thrown, and is influenced by Japanese and African art. Junko's work includes hand-built teapots, slab pieces, and etched animal motif on David's work. Other places that carry our handmade functional pottery are Greenbridge Pottery in Dayton, MD, Nest in Clarkesville, MD, and Gallery 30 in Gettysburg, PA. When you come visit us in the summer/fall seasons, you can also enjoy our local farm fresh produce. We offer you a taste of Pennsylvania - tree ripened peaches, heirloom tomatoes, fresh pulled corn, and crisp apples to just to name a few.

Pottery and ceramic art is almost as old as man himself. Down through the ages, art has been used to decorate the most basic of items used in the daily life of all cultures, from water containers, cooking utensils, bowls, dishes, and more. And then as art and culture became more sophisticated, art itself became more important than the function of the object, so that ceramic art is often "pure art" with only a reference to the original function of the object being represented.
